Union Public Service Commission organizes an entrance examination for engineering graduates in various governmental posts. The examination is called UPSE Engineering Services Exam or Indian Engineering Service.
This examination is conducted to recruit the candidates for mainly Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunications for the techno-managerial posts. It is considered one of the toughest exams because of the competition and the fewer number of posts.
The selected candidates who have cleared the IES/ESE examination will be offered a class-1 officer job in various Government of India departments like Railways, Telecom, Border Roads, CPWD, CWC, CPES, NHAI, Naval Armaments, IDSE, MES, Ordnance Factories, etc.
