The University follows a certain selection criteria for admission to the courses. Here are the details:

• MBBS and BDS programs: Applicants will be selected on the basis of performance in NEET and thereafter by counseling.
• MBBS Programmes: Those who have completed compulsory internship on prior registration with Andhra Pradesh State Medical Council will be selected for MBBS programmes.
• B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. (MLT), BNYS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS and BPT: Applicants must have attained required scores in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Zoology, Botany, Mathematics, with different combinations and English as a mandatory subject.
• The admission is based on the performance in the Entrance Test.
• For Post B.Sc. (Nursing) – Applicant must have completed class XII or equivalent and must have done General Nursing and Midwifery course. Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit in the Post B.Sc. (Nursing).
• MD and MDS: Candidates must have done MBBS/BDS or a PG degree in the applicable subject along with the internship. Selection is based on the scores attained in NEET PG.
• M.Sc. (Nursing), MPH and MPT: Applicant must be possessed with the degree in graduation in the relevant field with at least 50% marks. Selection of the applicants is based on the marks secured in the entrance test and for MPT it is based on the merit in the qualifying exam and Counseling both.
• DM and M.Ch.: Candidate must have cleared MD/DNB in the related field. In addition to this, applicant’s selection is based on the merit in PGMET.
• Ph.D. – For PH. D, a degree in M.Phil is the prior requirement. Candidate will be selected on the basis of entrance exam and viva voce.
• Doctoral programmes are also offered in both full-time and part time mode. For the part- time Ph.D. course, applicants must have working experience for at least one year in any of the colleges or institutes affiliated to NTR University.

Eligibility Criteria:

• BDS: Applicant must have acquired at least 50% marks with PCBE as the main subjects. It is mandatory for applicants to must have possessed with the valid rank in NEET to get selected.
• MBBS: Applicant must have completed senior secondary school or cleared an exam with at least 50% marks  with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology) / Bio-technology and English as main subjects (40% marks for SC/ST/BC and 45% marks for OC-PH in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology) / Bio-technology).
• B.Sc. (Nursing) – Applicants must have cleared class XII with minimum 45% aggregate of marks in Science stream (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) with English as a mandatory subject. Candidate must have cleared class XII from some recognized board under AISSCE/ CBSE/ ICSE/SSCE/ HSCE/NIOS/APOSS or other equivalent Board with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Biology. In addition to this, applicant must have passed Intermediate Vocational with Bridge Course in Biological and Physical Sciences. 
• B.Sc. (MLT) – Candidate must have cleared class XII or equivalent with Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry OR Intermediate Vocational (Medical Lab Technology) OR Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology OR  Inter vocational with Bridge course of Biological and Physical Sciences OR  APOSS with Biological and Physical Sciences
• BNYS: It is mandatory to have cleared class XII with at least 50% marks in the subject combination of Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.
• BAMS: To apply for BAMS, applicant must have done intermediate exam with Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry as optional with at least 50% marks. Applicant must have cleared an examination holding equivalent value approved by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh with optional subjects such as, Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry. In case, applicant has completed an Intermediate with Bridge Course with subjects such as Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry from NTR University or any other recognized university may also apply for BAMS.
• BHMS: Candidate should have completed senior secondary examination or qualified the Indian School Certificate Examination with Physical, Chemistry, Biology with Mathematics or any other optional subjects with English Language. He/she should have qualified their Intermediate examination in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects along with practical knowledge of the same and mandatory English language. He/she should have qualified pre- professional or pre-medical examination with Physical, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects after passing the higher secondary school or an examination holding equivalent value with appropriate practical knowledge in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. He/she must have studied Physical, Chemistry and Biology in theory and practical classes during the first year of degree programme and passed their senior secondary school with English as a main subject.
• BUMS: Applicant must have completed their senior secondary school or should have cleared an examination holding equivalent value with at least 50% marks in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Applicant must have cleared High School with mandatory Urdu or Arabic or Persian language as a main subject OR must have cleared the Urdu entrance examination commenced by the university. In addition to this, applicant must have qualified one year long Pre-Tib exam and the entrance exam commenced by the university.
• BPT: Applicant must have cleared 10+2 in Science Stream with Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry or Intermediate Vocational (Physiotherapy) or Inter vocational with Bridge course of Biological and Physical Sciences or APOSS with Biological and Physical Sciences.
• Post B.Sc. (Nursing) – To apply for this programme, applicant must have completed class XII or any other equivalent examination (10+2 pattern) recognized by the University in A.P. or Board of Intermediate Education Andhra Pradesh or NIOS or APOSS – Indian Nursing Council Regulations. Candidates also have cleared General Nursing and Midwifery from some recognized institution by the Government of Andhra Pradesh or Nursing Council of India and shall be registered with the State Nursing Council.
• MD: Candidate must have cleared MBBS/BDS exam from the Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India to apply for MD Programme Only Indian citizens can apply or if the person or a person holding the Indian card.
• MD Unani: To do MD Unani, applicant must have completed training as Internee/ House Officer. In case, if applicant holds a Post Graduate degree in Unani, then there is no need to appear in the entrance exam.
• MD Homeopathy: To apply for this course, applicant must have completed the degree course in Homeopathy for the duration of 5.5 years and should be possessed with the degree in the same or should have cleared an exam holding the equivalent degree. He/she must also have completed the internship.
• MD Ayurveda: Applicant must have gone through the professional training as an Internee/ House Officer. However, if applicant holds the Post Graduate degree in Unani, then there is hardly any need to appear in the examination.
• MS: Candidate must have done MBBS/BDS exam from the Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India. Only the citizen of India may appear in the exam or hold the Indian Card.
• MDS: Candidate must be possessed with the BDS degree from NTR University or from some other recognized university. Applicant must have completed MBBS/BDS exam from the Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India. Only Indian Nationals can apply or candidates of Indian origin (PIO) or someone who is holding the Citizen of Indian card may apply for MDS.
• M.Sc. (Nursing) – Candidate must be possessed with the degree in graduation B.Sc., (Nursing) /B.Sc., Hons (Nursing)/Post Basic B.Sc., (Nursing) from an Indian Nursing Council Recognized Institution with at least 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST).    
• MPH: Those who have completed graduation with at least 50% marks in any stream from any UGC approved and from the university which is an AIU member may apply. Candidate must be possessed with a degree course completed via Distance Education mode. Ensure that degree is approved by Distance Education council (DEC), UGC and AIU.
• MPT: Candidate must have cleared BPT degree examination or qualified any other equivalent degree from the NTR University or any other recognized university. Besides this, applicant must have completed compulsory internship
• M.Phil. (Pharmacy) and Ph.D. (Pharmacy) – To do M. Phil in Pharmacy, applicant must have cleared post graduation (MD, MS, DNB /MDS /MD(Ayur.)/M.Sc.(N)/ MPT or MSc-Medical) in the respective or related subject from NTR university or from some other recognized university. Applicant must be possessed with the post graduation degree in Science in the field of Medical sciences (Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Zoology etc.) from NTR university or from some other recognized university.
