NEST stands for National Entrance Screening Test conducted by the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) and University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS). Candidates who want to take admission into the 5-year Integrated M.Sc Program must go through the entrance test. NEST 2024 Eligibility Criteria
The following are the eligibility criteria that a candidate must follow to take part in the NEST entrance examination-
Education Qualifications
- The candidate must be a High school graduate with 10+2 from a recognized university with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology subjects
- A minimum of 60% marks are required for General/ OBC candidates and for SC/ST candidates a minimum of 55% marks will be required by the candidate to score on the qualification exam
- Candidate appearing in the 12th exam can also appear in the examination
- The candidate should be an Indian citizen
- General and OBC category candidates born on or after August 01, 2001, are eligible for admission to the Integrated MSc program of NISER/CEBS. The age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC / ST / Divyangjan candidates
How to Apply for NEST 2024?
The following are the steps that the candidate must follow to apply for the NEST which is as follow-
- Visit the official website of the NEST-www.nestexam.in
- Register on the website with your email Id, mobile number, name
- You have to fill the application form by navigating to the application form
- Some of the details that you must fill on the application form are Date of Birth, Category, Nationality, qualification details such as Year of Passing, Percentage of marks, etc, details to contact, and choice for the exam center.
- Now click on the proceed button
- Now upload the necessary documents mentioned below
- A payment page asking for paying the application fee will appear. You can pay your application fee using a credit/debit card, UPI, Bank Challan, etc.
- A confirmation page will appear that you have to download the payment fee confirmation as well as the application fee for future use

NEST Application Fee
The application fee for NEST depends on the category of the candidate. The following are the application fees for the candidates-

NEST Examination Pattern
The examination is MCQ-based with a Computer-based Test (CBT) format. The candidates will be provided with 3 hours to solve four sections each carrying 50 marks except the general section which carries 30 marks. The total marks of the examination are 230. Downloading NEST 2024 Admit Card
The admit card is the most important document, without this the candidates will not be allowed to give the NEST exam. You can download the NEST admit card from the official website of NEST. The release date for downloading the NEST admit card will be released later and you can keep checking our website. The following are the steps for downloading the NEST admit card which is as follows-
- Visit the official website of the NEST
- Log in to your account user ID and Password
- Navigate to the download admit card button. After the page opens fill in your roll number along with other details and press enter
- A new window with your admit card will open take a printout and carry it with you to the examination center

NEST Result
NTA shall declare the result on a tentative date of the first week of June. The candidate has to visit the official website of NEST and navigate to the result tab after to check his/her result.
NEST Admission Process
After the declaration of the exam, the candidate will be asked to go through two more steps i.e. Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The candidate will be evaluated based on his/her knowledge and personality.

NEET Counselling Session
A counseling session will be organized for the candidates who have qualified for the entrance examination. Based on the merit list, the candidates will be offered different colleges to choose from. You can choose the colleges based on your liking, fees, location, etc. when appearing for the counseling session of a particular institute, the candidate must provide relevant documents in original as well as a printout. The following are the list of documents that are required during the counsellings session-
- Mark sheets till 10+2.
- In case the candidate has already done some diploma course post twelfth then the mark sheet for the same is also required.
- Along with a mark sheet certificate is also required.
- Either of the address proofs likes; voter id card, Aadhar card, bank passbook, LIC policy document, ration card, or any other government address proof.
- Id proof like; driving license, pan card, voter id card, Aadhar card, 10+2 admit card, or any other document issued by the Government of India authority.
- In the case of SC and ST candidates, a government certificate for the class category is essential to submit.
- Candidates need to carry a minimum of three passport-sized photos with themselves
