Maharashtra M.Tech Admission 2024 is conducted for applying to various M.Tech programmes offered by state-run universities and/or universities. The admission process is conducted annually by the Department of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra in the month of July. Eligibility criteria for Maharashtra M.Tech 2024
The eligibility criteria for applying for Maharashtra M.Tech vacancies are prescribed by the Department of Technical Education (DTE) in their official website. The eligibility criteria include:
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- The applicant must have a B.E/B.Tech degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate or CGPA. There is a 5% relaxation in marks for the reserved categories.
- Candidates currently in their final year examination for B.Tech programmes may also apply for the admission process.
- The applicant must have a valid GATE score, as it will be used for shortlisting and publishing the merit list.

Application Process
The application process starts by July of every year. The candidates have to fill in their application form and should be done so as early as possible to avoid last-minute mistakes and errors. The application process is as follows:
- Candidates have to register themselves in their official website where in you get an ID and password, which is to be kept safe till the completion of the admission process.
- The ID are sent to the registered candidate’s registered mobile no. and e-mail.
- The applicants can then log in with the credentials and fill in their details including personal, educational and communication details.
- Candidates may have to submit digital copy of certain documents for verification purposes.
- After submission of the application form, applicants can move to the payment process.
Application Fee
The candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs. 800/-as the application fee. The candidates belonging to reserved candidates are liable to pay Rs. 500/- as the application fee. The fee can be paid using online means such as net banking, debit/credit cards.

Reservation Policy for Maharashtra M.Tech Admission 2021
Candidates may have to submit required documents while filling the application form for claiming seat reservations for their category. All candidates who are outside Maharashtra will not be eligible for reservations and will considered as general category candidates. The reservation policy and weightage is as follows:

Merit List for Maharashtra M.Tech Counselling 2021
Once the application portal is closed by July, the merit list will be published by DTE on their official website. The merit list will be based on the application submitted and the GATE score obtained by the candidate. The provisional merit list will be published first, and candidates are allowed to raise any queries or objections before the last date. After cross-checking, the final merit list will be released. This merit list will determine the admission to seats in all colleges and the priority with which vacancies in prestigious colleges get filled.
Tie Breaking Policy
In the case where more than one candidates get the same merit number, the tie breaking will be based on the following criteria:
- Higher percentage in 12th
- Higher percentage in 10th
- Higher score in Science Subject in 10th
- Higher score in Mathematics Subject in 10th
- Higher score in English Subject in 10th
