Introduction 

Among IIT Madras’s best-known programs is its B. Tech in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE). Besides B. Tech and MTech, students can also take part in dual degrees at IIT Madras. The dual degree program takes a minimum of five years to complete, and the students get a B. Tech+M.Tech degrees from IIT Madras. A B. Tech degree from IIT Madras is available in nine specializations. In the first year, the tuition fees and caution deposit for the B. Tech program are INR 75,116. These fees and caution deposits are payable at the time of admission.

JEE Advanced and JOSAA Counselling are required of applicants interested in applying for this program. The exam for JEE Advanced 2024 has been rescheduled for October 3, 2024. India’s IIT Madras has secured 1st position in the NIRF rankings of top national technical institutes. Entrance examinations are required for admission to a variety of courses offered by the Institute. In addition to its 10000 students, IIT Madras has a staff of 1250 administrative and support staff. About 600 faculty members make up the Faculty of Science and Engineering, among which approximately 300 faculty are members of the department.

Admission 2024 for MTech at IIT Madras

IIT Madras offers MTech for a 2-year duration. Credit-based programs are offered across the different disciplines at the Institute. There is a large concentration in Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Computer Science & Engineering, and Biotechnology.

Admission to the MTech program IIT Madras offers requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Architecture from an institution accredited by the AICTE/Government.

Eligibility Criteria

• After completing two semesters of the MTech program, the candidate is expected to be successful.
• A CGPA of at least 8.0 is required for the prescribed courses.
• Students will also be able to apply if they are in their final year of university.

How to get into IIT Madras for MTech

The MTech program will admit candidates based on their GATE score.

In addition, there are other categories under which admissions are granted, including.

• IIT graduates with a CGPA of 8.0 (on a scale of 10) and above can apply without a GATE score.
• AICTE/UGC/Govt. approved educational institutions, or educational institutions affiliated with Government/public sector enterprises, or candidates sponsored by DST-recognized organizations as Research and Development units
• Testing and interviews will determine direct admission under the Quality Improvement Program.
• The Institute has an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with various organizations/industries regarding candidates for UOP.
• Candidates backed by the defence department.

MBA Admissions to IIT Madras in 2024

MBA eligibility at IIT Madras

• Graduates in any field from a recognized university with a minimum mark of 60% on the cumulative scale (of all years/semesters) or a CGPA of 6.0 or higher in the qualifying degree.
• SC/ST candidates will receive a 5% relaxation in marks (i.e., a minimum of 55%) or equivalent in CGPA (i.e., a minimum of 5.50 on a 10-point scale).
