- Applicants must hold a master’s degree in science or equivalent with 60% marks. This means that any candidate who has secured atleast 60% marks in their master’s degree in science can easily apply for our institute.
- A student must hold a bachelor’s degree in Arts/ Commerce or equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks. The Requirements for Arts & Commerce students is low. This means that they need atleast 55% of marks in their bachelor’s degree to apply for the institute.
- Students should have Valid GATE/ CEED/ JEST (for Physics) score OR Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) of CSIR/ UGC/ NBHM/ DBT/ ICAR/ ICMR/ ICPR OR DST INSPIRE Fellowship

Thesis courses, seminar courses and practical training are the main activities undertaken by the PhD candidates.
