Eligibility Criteria
The following are the eligibility criteria that the candidate must have to participate in the examination, which is as follows-
Undergraduate Courses
- Candidates must have class 12th from a recognized university with 75% or more marks in aggregate with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects (65% for SC/ST and PWD candidates)
- Candidates are required to have cleared JEE Mains or JEE Advance with relevant marks required by the university
Post Graduate Courses
- Candidates must have passed B.Tech./B.E./M.S/M.Sc. or equivalent degree securing a minimum of 60% marks
- Candidates must have a valid GATE/JEST/UGC NET score in a relevant area
IIST 2024 Registration Form
The following are the steps that you can follow to register for the IIST entrance examination-
- The registration for IIST can be done online
- visit the official website of the IIST-https://www.iist.ac.in/
- Click on the Registration button followed by clicking on the signup button
- Now, signup using mobile number, email, name, and other important details
- Confirm your registration using an email sent to you from IIST
- Now login to your website and click on the registration form
- Fill the form using correct details followed by uploading the document mentioned below
- Now payment page appears, you can pay the application fee using UPI, Credit/debit card, net banking, etc.
- After paying the application fee, download the Payment confirmation followed by a printout of the filled application form for future use

IIST Selection Process
The selection process of IIST will be based on the national-level entrance examination JEE Mains and JEE Advance. The candidate must go through the entrance examination to get admission also the candidate must meet the minimum cut-off mark decided by the university. After clearing the entrance exam and meeting minimum cut-off marks. The candidate will have to go through a Personal interview which will test the candidate’s personality and knowledge about the subject.
IIST Cut-off
Cut-off mark is the minimum mark or score that is required by the candidate to take admission into the institute. The cut-off mark depends on many different factors like no of participants, availability of seats, the difficulty of the examination, etc.
IIST Merit List
The Merit List of the IIST will be released on the official website of IIST. In the merit list, all the selected candidates for their respective courses will be displayed. The candidate mentioned on the list will have to further participate in the admission session organized by the institutes.
IIST Counselling
Counseling is organized by IIST to invite candidates who have scored more than the minimum cut-off marks in the entrance test. This is an offline meetup where you have to visit to block your seat for the course that you want to choose. At the venue, you have to present all the documents that are necessary for admission. After blocking the seat, you will be allotted a time frame to submit your fee which will confirm your seat.
