Eid-Al-Adha or Bakri-Id is a muslim festival celebrated by muslim community. On this festival, Muslims distribute meat and chant takbir ro mark the true meaning of the day. It is believed that God has provided male goat to Abraham to sacrifice before he forewent his son. As per the instructions from the God, the male goat was sacrificed by dividing in three parts. The poor were offered the one-third of its portion and rest of portion was offered to family and friends. The residual portion was As per the God's instructions, the male goat was sacrificed by dividing into 3 spares. The poor were offered the one-third of the share and another portion was given to friends and families. The rest of the portion was offered to the family of Abraham.
The festival falls on June 17, Monday, 2024 (the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah), as per the Islamic lunar calendar. However, as per the international calendar, the date of the festival changes every year. The festival is enjoyed all over the world with names such as Eid al-Adha, Bakr-Eid, Qurbon Hayiti, Idul Azha, Kurbanir Id, and Id ul Baqarah.

Eid al-Adha is celebrated by the muslim community by offering special prayers in the mosque. People greet each other and exchange gifts. It is a gazette off in India. People wear new clothes purchased to celebrate this festival. Goat is offered to God and shared with friends and family later. - Eid-Al-Adha is known as the Feast of Sacrifice. It is a four day holiday where muslims celebrate their faith by eating red meat.
- The festival celebrates the honor and willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son Ishmael as per God’s order. However, God provided Abraham with a sheep to sacrifice life instead.
- Eid al-Adha takes place at the end of Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam. Every year, more than 3 million Muslims travel Saudi Arabia for Hajj.
- Eid al-Adha is followed by Eid al-Fitr, which comes after Ramadan.
- Salat ul-Eid are crucial prayers which takes place during the first day of Eid.
- Men, women and children dress in their best attire.
- They sacrifice an entire halal animal such as a sheep, a cow, and a camel — and donate meat to neighbors and needy people as well.
- The scarified animal is referred as ‘Udiyyah’ meaning “the sacrificed”
- Most of the time, fried liver is served for breakfast, and rest of the animal is served for lunch and dinner. Cooking recipes vary from one country to the other. In Arabic countries, mutton is cooked with plenty of garlic and onion over a slow flame while in Southeast Asia, biryanis are popular, while in Turkey, kebabs are famous.
