The Punjab State Legislature created Chandigarh University (CU or CUCHD) in 2012, and it now offers more than 190 courses in fields like engineering, management, commerce, pharmacy, and law. For the academic year 2021-22, CU has developed industry-driven futuristic programmes in Blockchain Technology, Electric Vehicles, Digital Marketing, and Data Sciences. 4. A scholarship programme for the children of military personnel
For the wards or spouses of Defence Personnel, CU offers the Armed Forces Educational Welfare Scheme (AFEWS). The wards and wives of Defence Martyrs, as well as their immediate dependant relatives, are entitled to 5% of seats in all courses under this programme. Those who are accepted under this scheme are also eligible for a semester fee waiver. The following concessions are available:
15 percent discount on the annual fee for war widows and wards of war casualties, spouses and wards of war-injured and released defence personnel, spouses and wards of war-disabled defence personnel, spouses and wards of war-disabled defence personnel, spouses and wards of war-disabled defence personnel, spouses and wards of war-disabled defence personnel, spouses and wards of war-disable
• 10% discount on the annual fee for wards/spouses of current and retired defence personnel • 10% discount on the annual cost for wards/spouses of paramilitary forces personnel
Defence officers on active duty who desire to take a course during their study vacation are allocated 1% places in each course, with a minimum of one seat in each. A 20 percent fee reduction is also available per semester.
5. Scholarship for the family members of Chandigarh University staff
Academic costs are reduced by half for wards/spouses of CU staff who have worked at the university for at least one year. It will continue till the employee is employed by the university.
6. Scholarships for architecture students based on NATA/ JEE Main scores
BArch students can apply for a scholarship based on their NATA/ JEE Main scores. This scholarship allows candidates to receive up to a 40% tuition price waiver on semester fees. The following are the details for the same:
