Eligibility Criteria
The following are the eligibility criteria that the candidate must have to participate in the examination, which is as follows-
Undergraduate Courses
- There are two Undergraduate Courses-Bachelor of Mathematics (Hons), and a Bachelor of Statistics (Hons). Applicants who have passed their class 12th or equivalent exam with Mathematics and English are eligible for Undergraduate Courses.
Post Graduate Courses
- There are two Undergraduate Courses-Bachelor of Mathematics (Hons), and a Bachelor of Statistics (Hons). Applicants who have passed their class 12th or equivalent exam with Mathematics and English are eligible for Undergraduate Courses.
Post Graduate Diploma Courses
- Master of Mathematics: Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years in Mathematics or BE/ B.Tech degree with Mathematics as a subject or B.Stat degree from ISI are eligible
- Master of Statistics: Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree of a minimum of three years or BE/ B.Tech degree with Statistics as a subject or B.Math from ISI or a postgraduate diploma in Statistical Methods and Analytics from ISI.
- MS in Quantitative Economics: Candidate holding a bachelor’s degree of a minimum of three years in any discipline. Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level is also required
- MS in Quality Management Science: Applicants who hold a bachelor’s degree of a minimum of three years with Mathematics as a subject or a BE/ B.Tech degree in any discipline are eligible
- MS in Library and Information Science: candidates holding a bachelor’s degree of a minimum of three years in any discipline to be eligible.
- M.Tech in Computer Science and Master of Technology in Cryptology and Security: Candidate holding a master’s degree in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics/ Electronic Science/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Information Technology or BE/ B.Tech degree in a relevant discipline is required.
- M.Tech in Quality, Reliability & Operations Research: Candidates holding a master’s degree in Statistics with Physics and Chemistry at the 10+2 level or a master’s degree in Mathematics with Statistics as a subject at UG or PG level and Physics and Chemistry at the 10+2 level or a BE/ B.Tech degree in relevant discipline.
Fellowship Programme
- Junior Research Fellowship in Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Economics, Computer Science, and Quality, Reliability & Operations Research: Candidates holding a master’s degree in the relevant field are eligible
ISI 2024 Registration Form
The following are the steps that you can follow to register for the ISI entrance examination-
- The registration for ISI can be done online
- Visit the official website of the ISI-www.isical.ac.in
- Click on the Registration button followed by clicking on the signup button
- Now, signup using mobile number, email, name, and other important details
- Confirm your registration using an email sent to you from ISI
- Now login to your website and click on the registration form
- Fill the form using correct details followed by uploading the document mentioned below
- Now payment page appears, you can pay the application fee using UPI, Credit/debit card, net banking, etc.
- After paying the application fee, download the Payment confirmation followed by a printout of the filled application form for future use

Documents Required for ISI application
- Colored photograph
- Signature on white background with black/ blue ink pen
- First and last pages of passport in case nationality is not Indian
- Mark sheets/ grade cards from class 10th onwards
- Caste certificate for SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL candidates
- Disability certificates for PWD candidates
- INMO certificate issued by NBHM for B.Stat/ B.Math, if applicable

ISI 2024 Exam Pattern
ISI Entrance exam is a two-part exam- Section A and B. In section-A multiple-choice questions in Mathematics and logical reasoning of the undergraduate level. Section B contains descriptive, short answer questions from Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, and Engineering & Technology. Depending on the course you have chosen any one subject must be selected by the candidate. The duration of the time needed to finish each section is 2 hours and the first section is 30 marks, whereas the second section is 70 marks. ISI Admit Card
The admit card is the most important document which enables the candidate to participate in the examination. If the candidate fails to present the admit card in the examination center then the candidate will not be allowed to participate in the examination. Some important guidelines are mentioned in the admit card the candidate must follow those guidelines. The admit card can be downloaded from the official website of the ISI.
ISI Result
The result of the ISI will be released on the official website of ISI. The scorecard usually released after4 days of examination. The ISI scorecard will be valid for 2 years from the date of examination.
