MSSV or Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya was founded on 10 June 2014 in Nagaon. Eligibility Conditions for MSSV Ph.D. Admission 2024:

The following eligibility criteria required for MSSV Ph.D. Admission 2024:

• Applicant must have completed post graduation from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade point average (GPA). However, 5% relaxation tenable only for candidates belonging to reserved category.
• Those who are working in national institutes/government/private organization nominated/sponsored by the respective employer may also apply for admission. These aspirants must be possessed with the post graduate degree from the recognized institute with minimum possible marks.

Note: The above mentioned eligibility criteria apply on overseas applicants who are possessed with the masters degree from the statutory Indian/Foreign Universities.

• Application for research in interdisciplinary subject areas and from the applicants of that faculty or subject except the faculty/subject in which the research project is offered to be undertaken on the basis of the proven competence of the applicant. Applications received for such research projects will be minutely examined by the research supervisor along with research committee, subject to the confirmation by the Vice-Chancellor of the University.
• The university may provide admission to the foreign students on the basis of the marks acquired in the Master’s degree or equivalent GPA, the relevant Passport and Visa, subject to the ratification of the Vice-Chancellor.
• While pursuing the Ph.D. program, the candidate will not be permitted to pursue any other parallel program/course outside the program.

It is necessary for foreign students to submit their official documents such as passport and visa, sponsored or non-sponsored so that Registrar can verify whether the applicant is qualified for admission to the research programme or not.

Entrance Test for MSSV Ph.D. Admission 2024:

The admission into Ph.D. programme is based on the candidate’s performance in the entrance test to be commenced by the University as per the Annexure-I. The detail of the entrance test for MSSV Ph.D. Admission 2024 is mentioned below:

• Entrance test will be consisted of two papers-Paper-I and Paper-II.
• Paper-I will be for 100 marks. It includes questions based on General Knowledge and Aptitude
• There will be Multiple Choice Questions in paper.
• The paper will have questions based on the subject areas such as history, geography, logical reasoning, language, literature, culture and current affairs on regional, national and international.
• Paper-II will be consisted of 100 marks. It is based on the subject selected by the candidate for commencing the research program.

MSSV Ph.D. Admission 2024 Standard of Qualifying the Entrance Test:

Those who have acquired minimum 50% marks in Paper I will be considered qualified for Paper-II. However, reserved category applicants must have obtained at least 45% marks to qualify for Paper-II.

The entrance test for Paper-II will be subject-specific. The paper will be for 100 marks with the breakups-20 marks for objective type of questions with multiple choices questions. 80 Marks will be for theoretical and descriptive questions. To clear Paper-II, applicant must have attained 50% marks and 45% will be reserved category applicants.

Exemption from Entrance Test:

The following candidates will be exempted from the Entrance Exam:

• NET/SLET/JRF/SRF exams by UGC, DST, ICAR or CSIR or national competent authorities according to the UGC rules
• Candidates possessed with the M.Phil. Degree in the concerned subject from some recognized Indian University. Such candidates need to submit the original copy of the M.Phil. degree to the members of the interview board. Candidates are required to appear for interview by the board of the concerned department.
• Foreign students are exempted from the MSSVRAT

Admission Process for MSSV Ph.D. Admission 2024:

• The eligible applicants need to apply for admission to the Registrar of the University.
• Application need to be made in the prescribed form to be acquired from the Office of the Assistant Registrar (Academic) by paying the fees.
• The Registrar of the University will further send the applications to the Chairperson, DRC of the respective Departments. The Chairperson, DRC of respective Departments will place the applications at the meeting of the Departmental Research Committee for scrutiny and selection of the candidates. The Departmental Research Committee will then commence an interview of the applicants and prepare a list of candidates for admission.
• After this, the eligible candidate will take admission in the Department for one semester pre-registration course work provided by MSSV University.
• However, applicants holding M. Phil degree in the regular mode and in the concerned subject shall be exempted from the course work.
• The Departmental Research Committee will assign the supervisor to each student on the basis of the interest of the supervisor and scholar during the time of admission.
